Qualifications

• 9+ years in Payments Solution Architecture or a closely related architectural role within financial services.
• Experience delivering solution architectures for complex payment systems.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms incl. GCP, AWS, Azure and OpenShift.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience in both Waterfall and Scaled Agile environments.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive solution architecture frameworks, principles, and strategies within Payments.
• Design target architectures, transition architectures, and roadmaps.
• Establish roadmaps and runways to support long-term technology objectives.
• Define end-to-end payment flows with business and tech stakeholders.
• Collaborate on detailed solution designs with BAs, PO, and others.
• Work with development teams to ensure architectural alignment.
• Produce high-quality architectural documentation and deliverables.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect specializing in Payments to join a large-scale technology initiative within the banking and financial services sector.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payments architecture, a strong understanding of banking products and financial services, and a passion for designing scalable, secure, and future-ready technology solutions.

In this role, you will lead architectural design and decision-making, define target and transition architectures, and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver effective payment solutions. You will play a key role in translating business requirements into architectural designs while supporting complex projects in an evolving technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive solution architecture frameworks, principles, and strategies within the Payments domain.
• Design and develop target architectures, transition architectures, and architectural roadmaps.
• Establish architectural roadmaps and technical runways to support long-term technology objectives.
• Facilitate the definition of end-to-end payment flows in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
• Contribute to detailed solution design alongside Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other key stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure architectural alignment and successful project delivery.
• Produce and maintain high-quality architectural documentation and deliverables.
• Engage with stakeholders across multiple business and technology areas to align architectural decisions with strategic objectives.
• Navigate ambiguity and support decision-making in large, complex transformation initiatives.
• Provide architectural guidance across Payment Channels and Payment Processing Platforms.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with business requirements, technical standards, and broader enterprise architecture principles.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of experience in Payments Solution Architecture or a closely related architectural role within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of banking, financial services, payment products, and payment processing ecosystems.
• Proven experience designing and delivering solution architectures for complex payment systems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop architectural deliverables, including target architectures, transition architectures, roadmaps, and solution designs.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, Microsoft Azure, and OpenShift.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience working in both traditional Waterfall and Scaled Agile environments.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable technology solutions.
• Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken.
