Job summary

Justera Group is seeking an experienced Tech Lead to take overall technical responsibility for a key digital platform within a large-scale retail/e-commerce environment. You will lead the development team and provide technical and architectural direction for the platform.

The role involves keeping the platform modern and scalable, exploring GenAI, data analytics, and cloud technologies, and collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to ensure a cohesive technical direction.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in software development and technical leadership.
• Strong experience in technical architecture and solution design.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience with FastAPI.
• Experience working with BigQuery.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience leading development teams or acting as a technical lead.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into a clear development direction.
• Relevant university degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical and architectural leadership for the platform.
• Lead and support the software development team from a technical perspective.
• Define technical principles, frameworks, and guidelines for the platform.
• Establish and maintain the technical roadmap for application development.
• Ensure that the platform is continuously improved and developed in line with business needs and technical objectives.

• Identify opportunities to improve scalability, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with solution architects, product owners, project managers, test leads, development teams, integration teams, business representatives, and external suppliers.
• Act as a technical advisor and confidently challenge existing solutions when improvements are needed.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and the continuous development of both the team and the wider organisation.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead to take overall technical responsibility for a key digital platform within a large-scale retail/e-commerce environment.

In this role, you will lead the development team and provide technical and architectural direction for the platform. You will be responsible for ensuring that the platform evolves in line with business and technical expectations, while continuously identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies.

A key part of the role will be keeping up to date with developments within areas such as Generative AI, data and analytics platforms, and cloud technologies, ensuring that the platform remains modern, scalable, and fit for the future.

You will work closely with stakeholders across both business and IT and coordinate with other teams and external partners to ensure a cohesive technical direction.

Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable.
