Senior Software Engineer at nxtedition (Malmö / Hybrid)

Our story-driven platform powers the production of live TV, news, and social media content for media houses across the globe, from Expressen in Sweden to public broadcasters in Greenland and Monaco. You will join a small and experienced tech team based in Malmö. Here, developers are not just writing code, they are designing features, solving real problems, and directly influencing both product and tech direction. We move fast, talk directly to users, and build systems that go live in mission critical environments every day. This is a role for someone who wants to do meaningful work and not just deliver on someone else’s backlog.

Technical responsibilities and requirements

In this role, you will develop and maintain our core platform whether your focus is frontend, backend, or a full stack mix. What matters most is your ability to learn quickly, navigate new challenges with confidence, and contribute to a fast-moving product with real impact.

You should be experienced in:

• Proven experience in Node.js development and/-or frontend development in TypeScript/JavaScript, with libraries like React and MobX
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases like CouchDB and RocksDB
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high quality solutions

It is a plus if you have worked with or are curious about:

• Search and observability tools like ElasticSearch and Kibana
• Linux environments and containerization using Docker or Kubernetes
• Media tools such as FFmpeg, C++, CasparCG, Vulkan, or CUDA
• Infrastructure tools like Netbird or Docker Swarm
• AI integrations (Whisper, Llama) or CRDTs for real-time sync

You will also be part of developing integrations with third party services and social media platforms, and work closely with customers in refining and adapting the platform to new use cases.
