Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight in Sweden is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to tackle complex technical problems across flight planning, navigation, and aeronautical data products. You will work with product managers, designers, and other engineers to design and ship robust software used by pilots and flight operations teams worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and API design.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern software practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across regions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship high-quality, well-tested software across the stack, taking ownership of complex features from design through delivery.
• Make sound architectural and design decisions, weighing trade-offs between speed, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to shape requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance, helping raise the overall quality bar of the team.
• Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability risks proactively.
• Contribute to system design and architecture discussions, including for cross-team or company-wide initiatives.
• Write and maintain automated tests, and champion strong engineering practices including CI/CD and code review standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, helping diagnose and resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with engineers across time zones, including teams in Europe and the US, to align on shared systems and priorities.
