Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking engineers to develop and maintain backend C++ applications used across truck divisions. The role emphasizes CAE-related simulations and calculations and includes migration of on-premise solutions to cloud platforms such as ARO/ACPS, aligning with Volvo's digital transformation.

The successful candidate will work within the Volvo Group Digital Technology & Operations division, in a fast-moving, agile environment that values collaboration and high-quality software delivery

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with C++, Node.js and front-end tech.
• Experience with ACPS, Oracle, Docker, REST APIs and Python.
• GIT/CI/CD experience and IBM MQ familiarity.
• Ability to work independently and in agile teams.
• Proactive in delivering robust, scalable software.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

The mission of this assignment is to develop and maintain applications that are used by different truck divisions within Volvo Group. The applications are mainly backend C++ applications that provide truck unique parameters and BOM for end users to perform technical calculations, for factories to build trucks, or for sales to specify orders. We are now in an excited journey to modernize our IT architectures and migrate our on-prem applications to ARO (Azure Red Hat Openshift) or ACPS environments and convert them to be cloud services.

We are looking for person with an engineering background specialized in simulation/calculation to focus om our CAE related applications

• Self-motivated person to work independently
• Strong team spirit to cooperate with team members, share ideas and help each other
• Strong agile mindset and positive to accept rapid changes
• Experience in Scrum manifesto
• Proactive thinking to build high quality, robust, and scalable software applications

Required Skills

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experiences on C++, Node.js, Javascript/JQuery/Bootstrap, ACPS, Oracle, Containerization (docker), RESTAPI, Python
• Version control: GIT, CI/CD, message queue concept (e.g. IBM MQ)
