Job summary

Safety Bolt is seeking a driven sensor characterization engineer to define and execute the full validation program for our bolt-sensor platform. Qualifications

• Solid foundation in analog electronics and measurement systems.
• Ability to design, execute, and evaluate systematic test programs: from experiment design through statistical analysis.
• Hands-on with measurement instrumentation: signal generators, impedance analyzers, oscilloscopes, lock-in amplifiers, or similar.
• Comfort with open-ended experimental work where the methodology itself needs to be invented.
• Cross-disciplinary thinking: prepared to work across electronics, signal processing, and algorithms as the problem requires.
• High ownership: you define the test agenda, not just execute someone else's plan.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute a systematic test and validation program for the Sensor, from component to full system under real-world conditions.
• Define the sensor operating envelope: boundary conditions, measurement uncertainty, and statistical confidence.
• Develop test fixtures, measurement protocols, and custom test setups for ESR and impedance characterization.
• Work with unknown-variable scenarios: test with a known bolt type but unknown environmental context.
• Define production test procedures and input to calibration routines for scale.
• Collaborate with FW and ME to translate test results into requirements.
• Gradually take increasing ownership of the analog front-end design as the team matures.
