Job summary

About the role

Business Services and Group Risk and Regulatory Services are cross-divisional functions that support customer flows across SEB’s product areas and client segments. Its broad remit includes transaction processing and customer support, data and reporting, regulatory and risk services and group-wide process management and automation. We are now looking for a Senior Risk Manager to join our first-line Risk Management team in Solna. In this role, you will help shape the function’s risk strategy and target state, strengthen risk-informed decision-making and enable effective implementation of SEB’s risk management framework. You will work across business areas, processes and geographies, combining deep risk expertise with commercial understanding to provide clear recommendations to senior management.

As part of the first line of defense, Risk Management enables the functions to manage financial and non-financial risks in line with internal and external requirements while supporting sustainable business opportunities. The team provides an end-to-end view of key risks and controls, identifies emerging exposure and helps management translate risk insight into timely action. You will be part of a team located in Solna, Riga and Vilnius.

You will have responsibility for one or more complex processes, services or products, often with international and cross-SEB reach. Working independently, with guidance from senior managers only in the most complex situations, you will lead strategic risk initiatives, improve existing processes and risk frameworks, and coordinate assignments to ensure that tactical and strategic objectives are achieved.

Your responsibilities

• Enable effective implementation of SEB’s risk management framework and advise the division on compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Contribute proactively to the division’s overall strategy, risk tolerance and target state, based on SEB Group requirements and management expectations.
• Identify, assess, monitor and review risks, controls and mitigating actions across complex business and process environments.
• Provide management with an integrated view of key risks, controls, trends and emerging exposures, translating analysis into conclusions and actionable recommendations.
• Improve risk frameworks, processes, tools and reporting, and coordinate assignments while monitoring delivery against agreed objectives.
• Guide colleagues in resolving complex issues share standards and best practices across divisions.
• Deliver training and awareness activities that strengthen risk ownership, effective use of risk tools and a proactive risk culture.

To thrive in this role, we believe you have:

• A university degree in Finance, Business, Law or another relevant field, together with at least 7 years of professional experience and relevant risk management competencies.
• In-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of risk management, supported by broad experience across a wide spectrum of concepts and principles
• The ability to combine risk and business knowledge, assess diverse information, draw sound conclusions and make clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Strong business understanding and relevant financial and regulatory knowledge, with the judgement to balance robust risk management and pragmatic business needs.
• Excellent stakeholder-management, collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to influence, develop and motivate others.
• High integrity, critical thinking and the ability to consider different perspectives, together with a proactive, adaptable and solution-focused approach.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, as the role works across SEB’s international network.
• Experience with data visualisation and analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI, as well as advanced Excel skills, is an advantage.
