Job description

Are you a strong team player who thrives in a data driven environment? We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our Financial Risk Management team in SEB Kort.

SEB Kort Bank is a fully owned subsidiary of SEB, operating mainly in the Nordics, Central Europe and North America after acquiring AirPlus. SEB Kort’s business targets two strategic areas; corporates and consumers. In both areas, SEB Kort works from two different brand perspectives: our own brands, and several partner brands. Following the acquisition of AirPlus an integral part of the business is to merge the companies and become a leading provider of corporate payment solutions in Europe with a global reach.

About the role

SEB Kort’s Financial Risk Management team consists of nine people placed in Stockholm. The main focus areas are credit risk optimization, profitability optimization as well as regulatory adherence.

As a Risk Manager, you will have an important role in shaping and developing how we manage financial risk, working closely with the business to support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day decisions.

Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Identify, assess and manage financial risks, with a primary focus on credit risk, capital usage and IFRS 9 reserves (ECL) using data and quantitative analysis as key tools.
  • Contribute to the development, analysis and use of profitability models and other business models, supporting risk-adjusted decision-making, pricing, portfolio steering and capital efficiency.
  • Develop and refine underwriting frameworks and credit decision processes in close collaboration with the business.
  • Drive the development of data infrastructure, data quality and analytical capabilities to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal standards.
  • Design and maintain monitoring and internal reporting of financial risk metrics to be reported to SEB Kort management and other relevant stakeholders.
  • You will be working closely with the business, IT and other stakeholders across SEB Kort, as well as in SEB Group.
To thrive in this role, we believe that

You are a proactive and collaborative professional who takes ownership and contributes actively to ongoing initiatives. You are analytical and structured, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets as well as end-to-end processes. You are also motivated by continuous improvement and enjoy developing both yourself and the way risk management supports the business.

Your preferred background:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience within credit risk, including regulatory frameworks and risk data infrastructure in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to structure, interpret and communicate complex information.
  • Programming skills in SAS, Python and SQL, or equivalent tools used for data analysis and modelling.
  • A relevant university degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering or similar.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and divisions.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Experience from modelling within risk, profitability or business analytics is considered an advantage.
What we offer
  • An opportunity to develop risk management capabilities and be a close partner to the business.
  • Innovative working environment with highly motivated colleagues.
  • International environment with extensive learning opportunities.
  • Friendly and welcoming culture.
