Job description

Welcome to Alf!

Hi there! We are Alf – a tech company born from the legacy of Länsförsäkringar Alliance, one of Sweden’s largest and most trusted financial groups, with over 3.9 million customers.

At Alf, we’re blending 200+ years of expertise with cutting-edge IoT technology to create a secure and sustainable way of living. Our mission? To empower customers to proactively care for and protect their homes, using smart solutions that make life easier and safer.

About the job.

As a Senior QA Engineer at Alf, you’ll play a central role in shaping how we work with quality. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and support to ensure that every release meets a high standard and that our users get the best possible experience.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading end-to-end testing across our systems, including functional, integration, and UI testing

  • Creating and owning test plans and test strategies across multiple teams

  • Working hands-on with manual integration testing for our mobile apps

  • Running API tests using tools like Postman (or similar)

  • Using Azure DevOps to manage test cases, track defects, and follow up on test metrics

  • Helping shape acceptance criteria, reviewing the backlog, and preparing future test efforts

  • Performing regression testing and smoke tests before every release

  • Working closely with the support team to understand real user issues and turn them into test scenarios

We work in 2-week sprints with frequent releases. Quality isn’t just your job, it’s how we work.

About you.

You’re analytical, structured, and a natural problem-solver. You don’t wait for someone to tell you what to test; you figure out what needs testing and how to do it best. You enjoy working across teams and feel comfortable driving quality conversations wherever needed.

We believe you have:

  • Solid experience in manual and exploratory testing, preferably in B2C environments

  • Experience designing and executing test plans and test strategies

  • Hands-on skills with API testing tools like Postman or similar

  • Familiarity with agile ways of working and close collaboration across product and development

  • A self-driven mindset and the ability to work independently across multiple teams

It's also beneficial if you have:

  • Experience with automated testing (mobile or backend)

  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, especially the Test Plans feature

  • Background in IoT systems or connected devices

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or DevOps workflows

We're looking for someone who enjoys real ownership, values collaboration, and gets energy from working in a product company where your work directly impacts users. If you're excited by the idea of continuously improving both the quality of what we build and how we build it then we think you’ll feel right at home here.

Please note that, with the summer holidays approaching, our recruitment process might take a bit longer than usual, but we’re still very excited to hear from you!

What You’ll Thrive On at Alf

At Alf, we embrace the guiding principles of empowered product teams to create an exceptional working environment:
