Job summary

Tradedoubler is seeking a seasoned Oracle Database Engineer in Sweden to design, maintain and optimize scalable data models and ensure data accuracy. You will contribute to architecture, maintenance and support of our Oracle database environments.

The role requires strong Oracle DBA experience, Exadata/RAC knowledge, and proactive monitoring. You will work in a collaborative, international setting with focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong Oracle DBA experience with at least five years in the field.
• Experience with Exadata architecture or RAC setups.
• Proactive monitoring (OEM) and incident resolution.
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery management.
• Knowledge of relational database design and performance optimization.
• Experience optimizing performance via partitioning and SQL tuning.
• Experience with scalable, high-volume transaction systems.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Perform Oracle Database administration activities, including upgrades, backups, and restorations.
• Provide senior expertise on Oracle database technology to other teams.
• Support deployment of services focusing on high availability, performance, and scalability.
• Design and improve database architecture for performance and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with security and backup requirements; assist others on these topics.
• Resolve incidents and troubleshoot infrastructure issues and PL/SQL code.
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation as primary on-duty contact for incidents.
• Lead investigation and resolution of serious Oracle database incidents.
• Coordinate with Oracle Support for specialist assistance.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform Oracle Database administration activities, including upgrades, backups, and restorations.
• Provide senior expertise on Oracle database technology to other teams
• Support in deploying services with focus on high availability, high performance, low latency, and scalability.
• Design and improve database architecture for performance, resilience, and cost efficiency
• Ensure database environments comply with internal security, backup, and compliance requirements. Give support to others on these topics.
• Resolve incidents and troubleshoot both infrastructure issues and PL/SQL code
• Participate in the weekly DBA on-call rotation, acting as the primary database on-duty contact for critical incidents and operational issues. Establish and maintain clear on-call and disaster-recovery procedures
• Lead the investigation and resolution of serious Oracle database incidents.
• Coordinate with Oracle Support when specialist assistance is required

Your profile

Professional Skills

• Strong Oracle DBA experience, at least five years of experience
• Experience with Exadata architecture or other RAC setups
• Proactive monitoring (OEM) and incident resolution
• Strong knowledge of backup and recovery management
• Knowledge of relational database design
• How to optimize performance using for example data partitioning and SQL tuning
• You have worked with scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Not required, but beneficial

• Experience from Exadata Database Service on Exascale infrastructure (ExaDB-XS) in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Scripting in Bash
• Automated configuration of environments using tools like Ansible
• Experience from other database systems such as PostgreSQL
• Experience with AWS and on-premises hosting
• Experience from online marketing and/or e-commerce
