Job summary

Rebtel seeks a Staff .NET Developer to act as the technical guardian and principal contributor for the Backend architecture and ecosystem. You will influence engineering practices across teams while remaining hands-on in critical areas, and you will mentor engineers to elevate technical excellence.

Based in Stockholm, this role involves architectural decisions, roadmap planning, and driving adoption of new technologies to maintain a competitive edge while delivering robust, scalable backend

Qualifications

• Expertise in the .NET stack with C#, .NET Core/8+ and related frameworks such as ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core.
• Ability to architect and build high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems (microservices, event-driven, serverless).
• Strong knowledge of design patterns, DDD, and SOLID principles.
• Extensive experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services (managed databases, queues, containerization).
• Deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling best practices.
• System-level thinking to decompose problems and weigh trade-offs between speed and stability.
• Excellent communication to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of complex, high-throughput backend services and APIs with maintainable architectures.
• Drive architectural decisions and serve as the primary BE escalation point.
• Define a clear long-term BE vision and technical roadmap for evolution of the systems.
• Plan for future growth and adoption of new technologies and patterns to stay competitive.
• Act as the principal architect for major system initiatives, defining microservices boundaries and deployment strategies.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical debt and architectural risks.
• Mentor engineers to raise the organization's engineering quality.
• Influence standards and best practices for testing, performance tuning, and security.
