Job summary

Vallum Associates seeks a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our data centre team in Sweden. You will lead the mechanical design for large-scale projects, guiding a multidisciplinary team and ensuring compliant, efficient solutions across concept through construction.

You will oversee HVAC, cooling and infrastructure systems, review designs, and support procurement and site commissioning. Strong leadership and knowledge of Swedish regulations and BIM tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in mechanical building services design, ideally within Data Centres, mission-critical facilities or large-scale industrial projects.
• Proven experience leading mechanical design packages and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mechanical design of large-scale Data Centre projects from concept through construction.
• Oversee the design and coordination of HVAC, cooling and ventilation systems.
• Develop and review mechanical design calculations, specs, schedules and drawings.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers, designers and external consultants.
• Coordinate with electrical, architectural and construction teams for integrated designs.
• Ensure design deliverables meet project programmes and budgets.
