Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead on-site mechanical activities for a data centre project in Skelleftea, Sweden.

You will manage HVAC, piping, and related services, coordinating with planners, PMs, subcontractors, and design teams to deliver safe, on-time, and quality outcomes. You will drive QA/QC, manage subcontractor performance, and take responsibility for safety and buildability across the project lifecycle, reporting progress to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical construction with on-site management.
• Experience managing HVAC and piping on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, coordination, and programme delivery.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Experience with data centre, industrial, or mission-critical projects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all Mechanical construction activities across the project lifecycle.
• Lead day-to-day mechanical site operations in coordination with the wider project team.
• Ensure QA/QC processes are implemented and maintained per project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate project schedules with Planners, Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, and design teams.
• Manage mechanical subcontractor performance, including progress tracking, manpower levels, and coordination meetings.
• Ensure all subcontractor documentation, including safety documentation, is maintained and up to date.
• Attend and lead Site Meetings, Engineering Reviews, Planning Meetings, and Handover Meetings.
• Liaise with the design team to ensure construction information and technical submittals are issued in line with programme requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure quality, compliance, and buildability of mechanical systems.
• Ensure adherence to health & safety standards and drive a strong safety culture on site.
• Support commercial management by tracking variations, managing costs, and attending weekly commercial meetings.
• Issue progress reports to senior management and the project team.
• Manage mechanical snagging activities and ensure effective and timely close-out.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical, design, and coordination issues.
