Job summary

Telia Company seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join Telia Finance, providing practical legal advice across credit, financing, leasing and regulatory matters in the Nordic B2B space.

You will draft and negotiate a wide range of B2B contracts, support product development and navigate compliance in AML, KYC and data protection. A Swedish law degree and 6–8 years’ post-qualification experience in finance are required.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join Telia Finance as we navigate the evolving legal and regulatory landscape of primarily the B2B financial services.

Telia Finance is an independent credit market company providing financial services to the B2B customers of Telia Company, one of the world's leading telecom operators. Telia Finance operates across the Nordic market, giving us the opportunity to offer innovative and competitive financing solutions on our customers’ terms.

What you’ll do:

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide practical, business-oriented legal advice across a broad range of financial services, commercial, and regulatory matters.

• Provide independent, business-oriented legal advice on credit, financing, leasing and related regulatory matters
• Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a wide range of B2B commercial agreements.
• Support product development, strategic projects and implementation of new or amended legislation
• Advise on corporate law, governance, outsourcing and third-party arrangements
• Contribute legal expertise to matters involving AML, KYC, data protection and privacy in cooperation with relevant specialists
• Develop templates, guidance and training, and contribute to efficient legal processes and knowledge sharing

What will help you thrive in this role:

You are a proactive, solution-oriented legal professional who enjoys taking ownership, working independently, and building trusted relationships across the organization.

• You hold a Swedish law degree
• Relevant experience in finance and/or the financial services industry
• At least 6-8 years of relevant post-qualification experience from a reputable law firm, financial institution or another regulated business
• Strong experience in commercial contracts and one or more of the following areas: financial services regulation, financing or leasing, corporate law, outsourcing and data protection.
• Demonstrated ability to independently handle complex legal matters and provide clear, practical advice
• Fluency in in both Swedish and English
