Job summary

Float Finance is building a new, AI-native financial platform atop its existing lending and data infrastructure. You’ll join a small core development team where you own feature delivery from data pipelines to frontend interfaces, collaborating with the founders and CTO to decide what gets built and how it ships.

You will work across stack areas—data, backend, and frontend—using Python, Node, and TypeScript, with a strong emphasis on rapid iteration and ownership in a fast-moving startup

About Float Finance

Float lends to European tech companies without taking equity, over €100M deployed to 130+ companies since 2022 (including RoomPriceGenie and RedTrack), and we're now building full business banking on top of that, plus an AI-native financial platform. We closed a €4.5M round in July, backed by Chapters Group, and we're already profitable. We're a small, fast-moving team of around ten, and we lean heavily on AI tools like Claude and Cursor in our daily work.

About the Position

You’ll be part of a small core development team where everything is on the table, from designing the data layer to shipping a new frontend. Day to day, you’ll:

• Build across our lending platform, our new data platform, and our AI-native analyst product
• Move across the stack as needed, from data structure and backend logic to frontend, in the same day if that's what the problem calls for
• Own integrations with our partners and vendors, and build internal tools that help teams like sales self-serve
• Take problems from first line of code to production, with real ownership over how you get there
• Work directly with our founders and CTO to decide what gets built and how

We use mainly Python, Node, and TypeScript, but if you're a great developer, we care less about which of these you've used before.

We believe you:

• Have experience from an early-stage start-up and appreciate the unpredictability that comes with it
• Have worked across the stack, including cloud, data platforms, and full-stack development
• Thrive when you're allowed to make your own decisions and take full ownership of your work
• Are comfortable moving between problems fast, rather than staying in one narrow lane
• Use AI tools like Claude or Cursor at real depth; that's how we work here

It's also nice if you have:

• Fintech background
• Experience with cloud platforms like GCP
• A background from a company that's gone through one or more scaling phases

What we'll expect of you

• You own outcomes, not tasks. When something new lands, whether it's a broken data pipeline, a broken feature, a misbehaving agent, or a new integration, you decide what to do, and you ship it. Our CPTO is someone to argue with, not someone to wait for.
• You ship code every day, through agents. Backend, frontend, data, the agents we put in front of customers, and our internal tooling. You direct the tools, and you own what ships. You don't type code by hand. Using the tools is the starting point. We want you to build ours on top of them: harnesses, evals, agent-driven testing, agents that keep an eye on our pipelines.
• You keep the architecture together while doing all of that. The models write the code. You own the shape of the system: boundaries, orchestration, state, observability, what happens when things fail. You catch what the model misses. There is no architect's role here. You're in the product every day.
