Contechs is seeking a Senior Energy Management Engineer in Sweden to lead climate control software development within the automotive sector. You will join a team focused on high-integrity energy management across HVAC, battery cooling, and powertrain cooling, ensuring optimal thermal performance for next-generation vehicles.

The role requires a Master’s in a related field and 5+ years in automotive climate systems, with strong MATLAB/Simulink expertise, embedded C/C++, and Calibration tools

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 5+ years in automotive climate & thermal systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, battery and powertrain cooling.
• Experience in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow MB development of control algorithms.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded software.
• Experience with SW calibration tools INCA and CANape.
• Experience with software verification and bench testing.
• Driver's license B and ability to travel ~3 trips/year.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).

Key Responsibilities

• Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Energy Management Engineer with a specialized focus on climate control systems.
• In this role, you will be a key contributor within the Energy Management team, responsible for development, integration, calibration, and verification of climate control software.
• You will work with global stakeholders to ensure optimal climate and thermal system performance, energy efficiency, directly impacting our next-generation products.

Qualifications and skills required for the role

• Master's degree in Control Systems, Vehicle Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant automotive industry experience in climate & thermal
• Have Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Climate & thermal systems (HVAC, battery cooling, powertrain cooling etc.) and control theory (PID, state machines)
• Have experience of analysing and resolving complex software issues related to functionality, performance, and integration.
• Have experience of Model-Based Development (MBD): Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow for designing, simulating, and auto-generating (via Embedded Coder) control algorithms for HVAC, battery thermal management, etc.
• Have experience of Embedded software development C/C++
• Have experience of SW calibration (using INCA, CANape), function validation, and bench road testing
• Have experience of process knowledge and quality assurance in software development
• Driver's license (B) and experience in vehicle testing and subjective evaluation.
• Proficient skills in English, both spoken and written.
