Job summary

Wellspect HealthCare in Mölndal is seeking an Embedded System Engineer to design and document software and firmware for our medical devices throughout their life cycle.

You will collaborate across R&D, Operations and Commercial teams, work on electrical schematics, PCB changes, testing, and ensure compliance with medical standards, EMC, and radio requirements. English communication and strong documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Electrical engineering (bachelor’s or master’s degree).
• 5+ years of embedded systems for medical devices Class II-III.
• Experience coding in C, C++, Python.
• PCB design with Altium, Eagle or KiCad.
• Experience with analogue and digital electronics.
• Battery-operated devices experience.
• Design for manufacturability and production test.
• Experience with contract manufacturing.
• Experience in medical device standards is a plus.
• Strong English documentation and communication skills.
• LabVIEW experience is a plus.
• Git or version control experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and technical documentation of software and firmware in medical device systems.
• Support design changes of electrical schematics and PCB designs and conduct reviews.
• Participate in activities related to electronic design, prototyping, testing and compliance testing against medical standards, EMC, ESD and Radio in collaboration with an external test house.
• Develop test methods, perform tests and analyze results.
• Own the specification of production test system equipment and ensure continued compliance in collaboration with contract manufacturing suppliers.
