Job summary

Sigma Technology Group, part of the Sigma Group, is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Lund or Malmö. The role designs, implements, and maintains embedded software for advanced products and systems, collaborating with hybrid teams across borders.

You will develop architectures, write robust code in C/C++/Rust, debug on embedded platforms, participate in code reviews and test strategies, optimize performance, and document designs while engaging with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Embedded Software Programming for microcontrollers or SoCs.
• Proficiency in C/C++/Rust and version control.
• Experience with RTOS or bare-metal development and hardware–software integration.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/EE or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work in hybrid, international teams and communicate clearly.
• Fluent in English; Swedish is a plus.

Role Description This full-time Senior Embedded Software Engineer role is based in Lund or Malmö. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining embedded software solutions for our clients' advanced products and systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and reviewing software architectures, writing robust and efficient code, performing debugging and troubleshooting on embedded platforms, and contributing to code reviews and test strategies. The engineer will also optimize software performance, ensure compliance with industry standards, document designs and implementations, and actively participate in technical discussions, customer interactions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Embedded Software Programming and hands-on experience with Embedded Software development on microcontrollers or SoCs.
• Proficiency in Software Development practices, including coding in C/C++/Rust or similar languages, version control, and collaborative development workflows.
• Expertise in Software Design, including modular architecture, real-time systems, and designing for reliability, safety, and maintainability.
• Advanced Debugging skills for embedded systems, including using hardware debuggers, logic analyzers, and diagnostic tools to resolve complex issues.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with RTOS or bare-metal development, communication protocols (e.g., CAN, SPI, I2C, UART), and hardware–software integration.
• Ability to work effectively in hybrid teams, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and collaborate in an international, multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; Swedish language skills are an advantage but not mandatory, however Swedish working permit/citizenship is a must.
