We are looking for Senior Software Architect.

As part of Sigma Connectivity MedTech you will have a very important role in Embedded Software development for our customers' projects, meeting with customers, help grow the team, coaching and leading your colleagues and of course have a lot of fun doing so.

You will work closely with our customers and with colleagues within Sigma Connectivity MedTech and other Sigma Connectivity entities. We live by the slogan "never work alone!"

Basic qualifications

We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Architect with a strong system-level understanding of software development for MedTech products.

You have a holistic view of embedded systems and are able to define robust, scalable and maintainable software architectures. You understand the full product lifecycle, from early concept and system design to implementation, verification and production, and can guide teams in making sound technical decisions.

You are comfortable bridging hardware and software domains, defining system interfaces, and ensuring that architectural decisions align with regulatory requirements, performance constraints, and long-term product strategy. You are passionate about embedded development and have deep experience across multiple platforms, operating systems, and technologies.

You are also a natural leader who enjoys coaching and supporting teams, setting technical direction, and engaging with customers. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will translate customer and stakeholder needs into concrete architectural solutions.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

• A team-oriented person who thrives in a leading technical role across multiple teams and disciplines
• Ability to define and communicate software architecture and technical strategy
• Strong experience in system design and architecture for embedded systems, preferably within MedTech and according to IEC 62304
• Ability to break down complex systems into clear building blocks and interfaces
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics in a clear and structured way
• Extensive experience in Embedded C/C++
• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems and/or Embedded Linux
• Experience with architecture patterns, software design principles, and code quality practices

Preferred additional skills, personal traits and experience

In addition, experience from the following fields is an advantage:

• System architecture responsibility in complex product development projects
• Safety-critical and regulated software development (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 14971)
• Software lifecycle processes, including requirements management, verification, and traceability
• Configuration management and CI/CD systems (Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, Gitlab)
• Connectivity standards like Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, LTE
• Security architecture (secure boot, key management, TLS/SSL)
• Hardware bring-up and low-level debugging
• Embedded Linux, Yocto/buildroot, secure Linux (including e.g. QNX etc.)
• Cloud connectivity (MQTT, REST)
