Job description
Overview

At SeaPattern, we’re enabling the transition to renewable energy by unlocking the full potential of hydropower. Our modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines are placed in an optimized microgrid, increasing the energy output of existing hydropower plants without new infrastructure or environmental harm. The system is scalable, affordable, and non-invasive. Our technology also delivers sustainable power in remote areas and mission-critical energy solutions for disaster relief and defense. Founded by scientists, engineers, and innovators, we’re now entering an exciting new phase—bringing our breakthrough technology to market. We are looking to expand our team with brilliant minds who want to develop our technology and join our mission, and are now looking for a Senior Director or Senior Advisor Hydropower.

Role

In this role, either as a senior advisor or employee, you will be a strategic architect and driving force behind our global commercial growth. Leveraging deep expertise and extensive network in hydropower, you will shape market entry strategies and open doors to customers to secure transformative partnerships in Sweden and across global markets.

You will be a cornerstone of our commercial expansion roadmap—navigating complex regulatory landscapes, cultivating senior-level relationships with hydropower operators and energy stakeholders, and closing high-value, long-term contracts. You will work in close collaboration with the C-suite to define and execute our growth strategy, ensuring our position as a leading force in sustainable hydropower solutions.

This is a role for someone with a deep experience and extensive senior network within the Hydropower sector in Nordics and Europe. You are commercially astute, results-oriented leader/advisory who can operate at both strategic and executional levels: opening markets, influencing policy environments, building high-trust relationships, and delivering measurable growth in a competitive, highly regulated sector.

Responsibilities
  • Drive and structure our commercial expansion efforts in Sweden and internationally.
  • Navigate the highly regulated energy market and overcome potential barriers.
  • Contribute to the sales funnel of hydropower operators and establish relationships with high-value customers.
  • Understand the customers situation and priorities and develop our win strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., government, institutions, hydropower operators).
  • Identify, assess, and execute new business opportunities within the hydropower sector, from market scoping to contract execution.
  • Build and nurture high-value, executive-level relationships with hydropower operators, energy institutions, and government stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with operations, engineering, and leadership to align commercial strategy with delivery capabilities.
  • Represent the company at high-level industry events, forums, and negotiations to enhance brand reputation and market influence.
  • Champion continuous improvement in commercial processes, systems, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • M.Sc./BA in business, engineering, sales or marketing.
  • Relevant experience and network in the Hydropower and Utilities industry in Nordics/Europe is a prerequisite.
  • 15+ years of progressive international business development and sales leadership experience, or alternatively operational leadership, with a proven track record in hydropower sector.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage at the highest levels of government, corporate, and institutional environments.
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable in leading customer meetings on your own
  • Strong commercial acumen, and ability to contribute to close complex, high-value deals.
  • Inspirational leader with a collaborative, hands-on approach and a relentless focus on results.
Why Join SeaPattern?
  • Impact: We are enabling a world where the full potential of hydropower is unlocked, enabling the full transition to green energy.
  • Innovation: Join a team of scientists and entrepreneurs working together on building a new solution.
  • Growth: You will join a team where you will be expected to bring ideas, seek and share knowledge and where you will be trusted with responsibility and as a consequence will grow fast.
