Job summary

Jobtailor is hiring a senior data engineer in Sweden to monitor pipelines, own security and backups across cloud environments, and build data solutions for multiple squads. You will maintain Databricks, govern workspaces, and ensure data quality and privacy compliance within the Data Mesh.

The role emphasizes integration with REST APIs, IaC, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) to scale robust data infrastructure and support cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering
• Strong Python experience in data engineering contexts
• Experience with Databricks and building big-data pipelines (e.g., PySpark)
• Familiar with integrating external REST APIs
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of Git
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., CloudFormation, ECS, S3)
• Familiarity with IaC using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate pipelines to ensure reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency
• Own security and backups across cloud accounts and environments
• Build and maintain data pipelines, run proof-of-concepts, evaluate new tools, and assist squads in solving issues
• Manage and maintain Databricks, ensuring workspace governance and infrastructure management
• Ensure data quality, metadata completeness, and adherence to privacy policies across the Data Mesh
