Job summary

WPP Media Sweden is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Stockholm to design, build and operate cloud-based data solutions that make client data accessible to media teams. You will automate reporting and enable advanced analytics, combining hands-on engineering with collaboration across media, BI and data science.

You will help establish practical standards for data engineering, contribute to Nordic/global initiatives, and support junior colleagues while working in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable data pipelines in production.
• Hands-on experience with a cloud platform, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with data modelling and integrating data from databases, files, APIs or other sources.
• Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices, including code review and deployment workflows.
• Understanding of infrastructure as code and modern data engineering practices (Terraform, Dataform).
• Strong data quality, monitoring, security, documentation and reliability mindset.
• You have a valid work permit in Sweden.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop data ingestion and transformation workflows using Python, SQL and Dataform.
• Use Terraform and modern engineering practices to create consistent, version-controlled infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with media, BI, data science and other teams to deliver data products supporting reporting and analytics.
• Implement monitoring, testing and data quality controls and troubleshoot issues.
• Contribute to design decisions, documentation, and coding standards for the Swedish data engineering capability.
• Support knowledge sharing and mentor junior colleagues across Nordic and global teams.
