Job summary

Klarna is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join Risk Control and lead model risk policy and governance. You will review predictive models across credit scoring, fraud, AML/CTF, and finance impairments, working directly with developers and business users to strengthen controls and validation depth.

You will leverage your hands-on modeling experience, Python/SQL proficiency, and cloud knowledge to raise risk awareness and scale validation practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building predictive models for credit risk or underwriting.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for building and interrogating models.
• Experience with PySpark and cloud platforms such as AWS.

Responsibilities

• Independently review and challenge predictive and AI/LLM models across credit risk, underwriting, finance impairments, and operations.
• Work with model developers and business users to identify control weaknesses and push for fixes.
• Extend code base and tooling to enable broader model validation without headcount growth.
