Job summary

AWS EMEA SARL (Sweden Branch) is seeking a Cloud Operations Architect to serve as the principal technical advisor for customers across industries. You will advise on solutions, drive operational excellence, and collaborate with Solutions Architects, Professional Services and Sales to optimize cloud workloads.

This role emphasizes a customer-obsessed mindset, strong technical acumen, and the ability to translate complex requirements into practical AWS architectures for diverse environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical engineering experience (software, systems, security, DevOps).
• 3+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud platforms (design, implementation, or consulting).
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role (solutions architect, TAM, consultant, or services).
• Degree in CS, Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Ensure AWS environments remain operational while reducing cost and complexity.
• Develop trusting relationships by understanding business needs and technical challenges.
• Lead technical discussions on incidents, trade-offs, and risk management.

Key job responsibilities

You’ll advise on solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for the customer

• Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexity
• Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges
• Using your technical acumen and customer obsession, you’ll drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management
• Consult with a range of partners from developers through to C-suite executives
• Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects, Business Developers, Professional Services Consultants, and Sales Account Managers
• With a bias for action, you'll proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS
• Provide detailed reviews of service events, monthly & quarterly metrics, detailed pre-launch planning
• Solve a variety of problems across different customers as they migrate their workloads to the cloud

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical engineering experience (e.g., software development, systems engineering, systems administration, network engineering, IT security, DevOps)
• 3+ years of experience with AWS or other cloud platforms (design, implementation, or consulting)
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., solutions architect, technical account manager, consultant, or professional services)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or specialty certifications)
• Experience advising enterprise customers (Fortune 500 / large-scale environments) on cloud strategy, migration, or operational best practices
• Experience with operational excellence frameworks (AWS Well-Architected, ITIL, or similar)
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks in cloud environments
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK)
• Experience managing customer escalations and critical incidents in a production cloud environment
• Swedish language proficiency — given the EU-North customer base this is a genuine differentiator for this seat
