ValueOne is seeking a Senior Category Manager for an interim consulting assignment in Stockholm or Västerås. You will lead strategic and operational procurement of direct materials and raw materials for battery production, quickly integrating with supplier relationships and processes to drive procurement forward.

The role requires strong negotiation skills, fluency in Swedish and English, and the ability to deliver results from day one.

ValueOne is seeking a Senior Category Manager for an interim consulting assignment in Stockholm or Västerås. The assignment is with our client, a company operating in battery manufacturing, and is due to start immediately. The initial assignment period is six months, with the possibility of an extension.

About the Role

As a Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for both strategic and operational procurement of direct materials and raw materials related to battery production. The assignment is an interim solution to support the organization while a permanent recruitment process is underway. You will therefore need to quickly familiarize yourself with the business, understand existing supplier relationships and processes, and independently drive procurement activities forward.

• Manage the procurement of direct materials and raw materials.
• Manage and follow up on existing supplier relationships.
• Negotiate prices, terms and conditions, contracts, and other commercial matters with suppliers.
• Drive sourcing activities and supplier selection based on cost, quality, capacity, and delivery performance.
• Ensure material availability and manage potential delivery or capacity challenges.
• Identify and implement cost savings and commercial improvements.
• Collaborate closely with production, supply chain, quality, and other internal functions.
• Take over existing procurement activities and quickly establish structure and momentum.
• Provide senior-level expertise and independently drive procurement activities with minimal onboarding.

Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in both strategic and operational procurement of direct materials and raw materials, preferably within the battery, manufacturing, or other industrial sectors. You should have strong negotiation skills, be proficient in both Swedish and English, written and spoken, and be able to quickly familiarize yourself with new business environments and deliver results from day one.

Experience in category management and procurement within relevant categories, such as metals and chemicals, is considered an advantage.

As a person, you are self-driven, proactive, and commercially minded, with an analytical and structured approach. You also have strong relationship-building skills and can work effectively with both suppliers and internal stakeholders in a changing environment.
