Job summary

Elekta seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Neuro engineering team to advance the Leksell GammaPlan desktop application used in radiosurgery planning with the Leksell Gamma Knife. You will contribute to requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and testing across two agile teams and collaborate with software verification engineers.

You will work across Linux OS configuration, GUI features, and advanced algorithms, with a focus on C++ and end-to-end software delivery in a regulated

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++.
• Experience with complex multi-layer systems.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles.
• Experience in agile environments such as Scrum or SAFe.
• Mentoring or supporting other engineers.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Design and develop robust, maintainable software within a complex and high-quality engineering environment.
• Review code and software documentation to ensure high standards of quality.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile setup (SAFe/Scrum).
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements relevant to software development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and team practices.
