Job summary

EG Group’s Mestro team in Stockholm is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to own backend design and development for a platform powering energy efficiency across Europe. You will shape architecture, collaborate with product owners, architects, and frontend developers to translate business goals into robust technical solutions.

You will deploy and operate services in Azure and Kubernetes, address performance and reliability, mentor teammates, and help raise the team’s overall level.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of professional backend experience.
• Strong Java, MS SQL, and Azure experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and distributed systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for the platform.
• Drive architectural and technical decisions and own their outcomes.
• Deploy, monitor, and operate applications in Azure and Kubernetes; run it in production.
• Address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues.
• Set code quality standards through well-tested code and reviews.
• Break down complex requirements with product owners into deliverable solutions.
• Mentor teammates and raise the overall team level.
