Job summary

Valmet seeks a Software Engineer to join its Global Tissue Services automation engineering team. You will design and develop automation software for tissue machines, work with Valmet DNA tools, and support customers globally from Sweden or Finland, with travel.

A strong automation background and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential. You will also engage in testing, commissioning, FAT, and start-ups, contributing to continuous development of our technologies and ways of working

Qualifications

B.Sc or M.Sc degree in automation engineering or equivalent experience.
More than five years of experience in a similar role.
Experience with PLC/DCS systems (e.g. Valmet DNA, Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
Industry knowledge.
Experience with Eplan/CADs is an additional advantage.
Proficiency in Swedish and English.
Self-driven and collaborative mindset.
Willingness to travel 0-80 days per year.

Responsibilities

Design and develop automation system software (PLC/DCS) and produce the related documentation.
Timely completing engineering activities with respect to delivery time, hourly budget and the target cost.
Support mechanical and process engineering teams in solution selection.
Support the sales team by providing expertise and answers to software engineering-related questions.
Support procurement team if needed to evaluate suppliers and brands.
Participate in FAT and start-ups.
Participate in commissioning, testing and starting up of equipment.
