Job summary

Justera Group is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join a mature mobile application undergoing modernization. The Android app is built with Kotlin and is transitioning to Jetpack Compose, with Kotlin Multiplatform enabling shared logic across Android and iOS while maintaining native UIs.

You will take ownership of the Android application, drive modernization, ensure stability and quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a flexible hybrid Sweden-based setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin.
• Excellent knowledge of Jetpack Compose and modern Android practices.
• Strong understanding of Android architecture and application lifecycle.
• Proven experience maintaining and developing production applications with a significant user base.
• Professional experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of a mature codebase.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Android application following a structured handover.
• Own Android releases, application stability, performance, and overall quality.
• Continue the migration from XML-based UI to Jetpack Compose.
• Integrate and manage native components within Compose-based UI and lifecycle.
• Contribute to the shared Kotlin Multiplatform layer in collaboration with the iOS team.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance challenges.
• Document key technical areas, architecture, and processes.
• Support a smooth knowledge transfer to a permanent team member at the end of the assignment.
