Job summary

Avaron AB is seeking a senior BI/analytics engineer to join its global retail analytics team in Malmö. You will design and deliver Power BI reports, semantic models, and scalable data assets, while working closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure governance and self-service readiness.

The role emphasizes hands-on BI development, Fabric and Azure data-plat familiarity, and the ability to drive standardized patterns, data contracts, and robust data quality across multiple sites

Qualifications

• Strong Power BI development experience with governed self‑service.
• Expert-level DAX, data modeling, and semantic-model design.
• Hands-on Fabric or equivalent cloud data-plat; Azure data experience helpful.
• Analytics engineering mindset with reusable, testable assets.
• Know-how to optimize report performance and data validation.
• Ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions and document them.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and datasets.
• Translate business needs into analytical models and actionable insights.
• Create scalable semantic models aligned with data-product principles.
• Leverage Fabric capabilities (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2) where relevant.
• Improve performance, usability, data quality, security, and maintainability.
• Promote standardized report design and reusable components.
• Support testing, release prep, demos, and onboarding.
• Collaborate to define consumption-ready patterns for governed self-service.
• Support reporting access and analytics needs for retailer/franchise stakeholders.
• Share knowledge and coach colleagues to reduce single-person dependency.
