Job summary

Nordea is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to design, build and scale agentic AI applications across the bank. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions while upholding ethical and sustainable practices.

The role is full-time with a hybrid work location, and candidates from Nordic regions will be prioritized. You will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product stakeholders to turn AI visions into value.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience architecting, developing and deploying applications or AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with Python proficiency and scalable code experience.
• Experience building agentic AI systems and integrating with tools, APIs and enterprise data.
• Experience deploying AI/ML on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) with containers.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end delivery of impactful AI applications: architecture, implementation, integration, testing and production rollout.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to design robust AI systems.
• Explore emerging AI tools and frameworks; share insights and build proofs of concept.
• Technical scoping and estimation for AI use cases.
• Define and promote engineering best practices: code reviews, CI/CD, testing, documentation.
• Champion ethical, safe, and sustainable AI practices throughout development.
