Job summary

Nordiska is seeking an AI Engineer to join the Data & AI team to turn rapid advances in AI into tangible business value. You will work with engineers, data specialists, product teams, and business stakeholders to deploy AI capabilities across Nordiska’s products and platforms.

In this entrepreneurial role, you will explore new ideas, influence technical decisions, and balance speed with security, reliability, and regulatory expectations of a bank.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C#, or similar language.
• Knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, and modern AI systems.
• Practical experience from professional work, academia, internships, or personal AI projects.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or LLM APIs.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to turn ideas into working solutions.
• Strong English communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience building agentic AI systems using LangGraph or Goose; cloud infra design is a plus.

About the Role

As an AI Engineer, you will join our Data & AI team and play an important part in Nordiska’s AI ambitions. We have a strong focus on integrating AI into how we build products, improve operations, and develop our business.

AI is fundamentally changing what can be built, how teams operate, and how quickly new business value can be created. You will work closely with engineers, data specialists, product teams, and business stakeholders to turn that potential into practical solutions.

This is an entrepreneurial role in a fast-moving field. You will have the opportunity to explore new ideas, influence technical decisions, and take solutions from early concepts to production. At the same time, you will balance speed and experimentation with the security, reliability, and regulatory expectations of a bank.

In the role, you will:

• Identify and develop AI use cases that create measurable value for customers, partners, and internal teams.
• Design, build, test, and deploy generative AI and machine learning solutions.
• Develop applications and services using large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and related technologies.
• Integrate AI capabilities into Nordiska’s products, platforms, and internal workflows.
• Build evaluation and monitoring processes for solution quality, performance, cost, and reliability.
• Experiment with emerging models, frameworks, and approaches, turning promising ideas into practical solutions.
• Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to shared engineering standards, documentation, and code reviews.

We believe that you have:

• A degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or another relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C#, or a comparable language, together with sound software engineering fundamentals.
• Knowledge of machine learning, generative AI, and the principles behind modern AI systems.
• Practical experience from professional work, academic projects, internships, open-source contributions, or personal AI projects.
• Familiarity with relevant frameworks and tools, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or large language model APIs.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to move from an initial idea to a working solution.
• Strong communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience building agentic AI systems using frameworks such as LangGraph, Goose, or similar orchestration tools is considered an advantage. Experience with LLM application development, MLOps, data engineering, C#/.NET, or designing and operating cloud infrastructure at scale in Azure, AWS, or GCP is also valuable, as is knowledge of Swedish or financial services.
