Job summary

Sinch is hiring a Security Engineer to safeguard our cloud and on-premise environments within a global security team. You will identify risks, perform vulnerability assessments, and support secure infrastructure while collaborating with senior engineers on complex projects.

The role is hybrid and based in Sweden, with Kalmar as the preferred location; Stockholm or Malmö are also possible. English is the corporate language, and relevant security certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on industry experience in security engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies.
• Pragmatic and analytical problem-solving, clear communication, and good organizational skills.
• Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security - Specialty.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security testing across products and systems.
• Proactively monitor and manage the attack surface across assigned environments, recommending mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to cloud hardening standards to improve security posture.
• Evaluate, deploy, and manage security tools with recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security in DevOps processes.
• Design and implement automation for security processes to improve efficiency.
• Participate in architectural reviews to ensure security in new infrastructure.
• Analyze emerging security threats and share mitigation proposals with senior engineers.

DESCRIPTION

As a Security Engineer at Sinch, you will help safeguard our cloud and on-premise environments as an integral member of our global security team. Your focus will be on identifying potential risks, conducting vulnerability assessments, and supporting the security of our infrastructure. You will handle routine security evaluations independently while collaborating with and learning from senior engineers on more complex projects.

• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security testing across our products and systems.
• Proactively monitor and manage the attack surface across assigned environments, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of robust cloud hardening standards to continuously improve our security posture.
• Evaluate, deploy, and manage security tools, providing recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into DevOps processes and contribute to secure design best practices.
• Design and implement automation for security processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Participate in architectural reviews to ensure security is deeply embedded in all new infrastructure initiatives.
• Analyze emerging security threats and sharing insights and mitigation proposals with senior engineers.

This is a hybrid role based in Sweden, with Kalmar as the preferred location. The role can also be based in Stockholm and Malmö.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on industry experience in security engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies.
• Pragmatic and analytical to problem-solving, clear communication, and good organizational skills.
• Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security - Specialty.
