Job Description: Rotor Dynamics and Vibration Engineer

Join us as a Rotor Dynamics Engineer and help shape the next generation of gas turbines, heat pumps, and selected steam turbine applications. Your analysis and engineering judgement will directly influence product reliability, efficiency, and performance.

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will improve engineering methods, develop practical analysis tools, and turn complex rotor-dynamic challenges into better products. Working closely with experienced colleagues across several disciplines, you will contribute throughout the development cycle—from early concepts and simulation to testing and product support.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Take responsibility for designing and evaluating rotor and stator structures for robust, reliable, and highly efficient turbomachinery using in-house and commercial software.
  • Contribute throughout the engine development process, from concept design and testing to evaluating product behaviour throughout its life cycle.
  • Drive innovation and technology development in rotor and structural dynamics.
  • Build a global network across Europe, North America, and Asia. You will also collaborate across disciplines, including Mechanical Design, Mechanical Integrity, Testing, and Manufacturing.
What You Bring
  • A master’s degree or PhD in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering physics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of and a strong interest in structural dynamics.
  • Experience in rotor dynamics is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis, mechanical integrity, mechanical design, tribology, or related areas is an advantage.
  • Experience with engineering tools such as Abaqus, Simcenter 3D, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent software is advantageous.
  • A proactive and committed approach to analysing and resolving technical challenges.
  • The ability to work across disciplines, both independently and as part of a team, while contributing to effective and efficient delivery.
  • Proficiency in English is required; Swedish is an advantage.

We welcome applicants ranging from early-career engineers to experienced specialists. The role provides opportunities to develop technical expertise, contribute to engineering methods and tools, and work with challenging dynamics problems across a broad range of products.

About The Team

You will join a diverse R&D group of 14 highly skilled engineers specializing in rotor dynamics and aeromechanics. We work closely and bring a wide range of backgrounds and experience. As part of an R&D organization of nearly 300 people, you will have access to broad expertise as we develop world‑class gas turbines together.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.

We can offer you employment benefits such as: reduction of working hours, advanced vacation, health care allowance and an eventual possibility to a flexible working place.
