Job summary

SSC Space in Kiruna, Sweden, invites a dedicated Project & Operations Manager to lead campaigns in our Rockets & Balloons team. You will plan, coordinate, and operate projects and countdowns across international customers, from handover to post-flight tasks.

As part of a six-strong project management team, you will manage stakeholder relationships, lead operations from the Operations Center during launches, and make decisive calls during countdowns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Good proficiency in English due to international environment; Swedish valued but not mandatory.
• Experience with PPS or a similar structured project management framework is a merit.
• Role requires strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to stay calm in stressful situations.
• Excellent teamwork and relationship-building skills; ability to lead and coordinate across teams.
• A driver’s license and access to a car are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and operate projects and countdowns within the Rockets and Balloons department, spanning the full project lifecycle.
• Plan rocket and balloon campaigns for international customers, serving as the primary liaison between SSC Space and customers and partners.
• Lead operations from the Operations Center during launches, coordinate across stations, and authorize launches when appropriate.
• Contribute to strategic improvement of operations and the development of SSC Space into a versatile space center.
