Job summary

Lund University, MAX IV, Accelerator Division invites applications for an RF Technician to join the RF Group at the MAX IV accelerator facility in Lund. The role focuses on operation, maintenance, repair and installation of RF, electronic and high-voltage equipment used across the facility.

You will troubleshoot, modify and maintain complex systems, collaborating with RF engineers and technicians to ensure high reliability and contribute to MAX 4 U upgrades.

Qualifications

• Formal education in electronics or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Practical skills in electronics and electrical work.
• Experience with soldering and assembly of electronic equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical or electronic equipment.
• Structured and safety-conscious way of working.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with high-voltage equipment.
• Experience with high-power electronics.
• Experience with cable manufacturing, connectors and RF cabling.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of RF, electronic and high-voltage equipment.
• Maintenance and repair of high-voltage modulators.
• Electrical and electronic assembly work.
• Precision soldering and repair of electronic equipment and circuit boards.
• Manufacturing, installation and repair of cables and cable assemblies.
• Installation and modification of RF equipment, electronics and associated infrastructure.
• Preventive maintenance and inspection of technical systems.
• Documentation of maintenance, repairs and technical modifications.
• Participation in fault finding and corrective maintenance during accelerator operation.
• Collaboration with RF engineers in system upgrades, improvements and new installations.
• Participate in technical installations, modifications and commissioning activities related to future accelerator upgrades, including MAX 4 U .
