Job summary

SSC Space, formerly the Swedish Space Corporation, seeks an RF Engineer for the Instrumentation team at Esrange Space Center in Kiruna, Sweden. You will develop, test and maintain RF and telemetry systems supporting rocket and balloon missions, collaborating with international customers and engineers.

The role combines hands-on work with development projects, offering opportunities to contribute to ground systems and launch operations in an evolving space program.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong background in RF design, analysis and testing, preferably in telemetry, telecommunications or space technologies.
• Experience with RF system analysis, including link budgets, noise figure calculations and modulation techniques.
• Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into workable RF solutions and troubleshoot effectively.
• Good collaboration skills and interest in working across engineering disciplines in an international environment.
• Fluent English communication, written and spoken.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain and improve RF and telemetry systems at Esrange Telemetry Station and local installations.
• Gather and analyze requirements from internal teams and customers, and develop RF solutions.
• Work with systems engineers to design and integrate installations for balloon and rocket operations, including hybrid projects.
• Perform RF system analysis, including link budgets and modulation scheme assessments.
• Configure and operate RF equipment, including analyzers and signal generators.
• Support PCB design and layout with engineering teams.
• Assist customer campaigns and launch operations, coordinating with international partners.
• Prepare technical documentation for design reviews, testing and operation.
