Overview

Hobson Prior is seeking a Research Scientist specializing in Membrane Protein Sciences to join a dynamic team in Sweden, on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will focus on producing and analyzing membrane protein reagents to support various stages of the drug discovery process. This position is ideal for someone passionate about laboratory-based research and eager to contribute to scientific advancements in biotechnology.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to produce and purify membrane proteins.
• Conduct expression screening in eukaryotic systems and scale up production for research needs.
• Provide high-quality bioreagents for assay development, affinity screening, and structure-based drug discovery.
• Analyze, interpret, and report experimental data independently or collaboratively.
• Contribute to improving methods for recombinant membrane protein production.

Key Skills and Requirements

• A background in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with techniques for expressing, purifying, and characterizing membrane proteins.
• Strong interest in laboratory research and problem-solving.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a global, cross-functional team.
• Desirable: Experience with GPCRs, drug discovery processes, and cell culture for protein expression.
