Job summary

Yuno is hiring a Staff Engineer to lead data platform architecture and end-to-end initiatives. You will help design low-latency pipelines and scalable data models for fraud detection, revenue analytics, and regulatory reporting, while ensuring security and compliance across payment data.

You will mentor engineers, define standards, and collaborate with Product, AI, and Finance to unlock value. Remote-first with international scope and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data or software engineering with staff-level experience.
• Experience designing large-scale data platforms (streaming/batch/hybrid).
• Hands-on with Spark, Flink, Kafka, StarRocks or equivalents.
• Strong Python and SQL; comfortable with multiple languages.
• Solid data modeling knowledge (dimensional/ Data Vault/ lakehouse).
• Cloud data infra experience (AWS/GCP/Azure) with managed services.
• Strong data quality, observability, and governance.
• Proven ability to lead initiatives across teams without direct authority.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Define architecture for the data platform and deliver end-to-end projects.
• Set quality standards, testing, observability, data modeling, and docs.
• Lead scalable, low-latency data pipelines processing high-volume payments in real time.
• Champion an AI-first engineering culture with data quality testing and AI-assisted development.
• Design and build data pipelines for large volumes of payment data that are reliable and correct.
• Design scalable data models for fraud detection, revenue analytics, and regulatory reporting.
• Own platform reliability — SLAs, data quality, alerts, and incident response.
• Ensure PCI-DSS, GDPR compliance for payments data.
• Partner with Product, AI, and Finance to translate needs into data solutions.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across teams.
