Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer—Protection for a fully remote role based in Sweden. You will own backend systems end to end, architect scalable solutions for payment dispute management, fraud prevention, and risk automation, and collaborate with leadership to deliver measurable business value.

You will build and maintain critical services, integrate with PSPs and fraud platforms, and mentor teammates while balancing rapid delivery with system quality in a growing, remote team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience owning backend systems end to end, from architecture and development through deployment and maintenance.
• Strong software engineering and system design skills for scalable backend architectures.
• Proven track record shipping improvements and mentoring engineers in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain robust backend systems with end-to-end ownership.
• Develop automation for payment disputes and integrate with PSPs and fraud providers.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to translate merchant challenges into technical solutions.
• Lead architecture decisions, data models, and service boundaries for scalable systems.
• Mentor teammates and raise engineering standards through reviews and best practices.
