Job summary

Kirby Group Engineering in Sweden invites applications for a Regional EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety across multiple projects. You will drive compliance, promote a positive safety culture, and support operational teams in delivering on time, safely and to budget.

With 10+ years EHS experience and strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001, you will influence leadership and stakeholders, conduct audits, investigations and develop safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of EHS leadership experience in construction or engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
  • Experience leading audits and investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • IOSH membership desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support EHS teams across the region.
  • Monitor regional EHS performance, KPIs, audits and incidents.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the EHS Management System.
  • Lead serious incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regional audits and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide EHS guidance to leadership, project teams and clients.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Develop and deliver EHS initiatives and training.
  • Support tender submissions and prequalification requirements.
  • Liaise with regulators and stakeholders as required.

The Regional EHS Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight of Environmental, Health & Safety performance across multiple projects in Sweden. The role is responsible for driving compliance, promoting a positive safety culture, supporting operational teams, and ensuring the effective implementation of Kirby’s EHS Management System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support EHS teams across the region.
  • Monitor regional EHS performance, KPIs, audits, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of the EHS Management System across all projects.
  • Lead serious incident investigations and oversee corrective and preventative actions.
  • Conduct regional audits and inspections to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide EHS advice and guidance to operational leadership, project teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Develop and deliver EHS initiatives, training, and safety improvement programmes.
  • Support tender submissions, client engagements, and prequalification requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and key stakeholders as required.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma (Level 8 or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years' EHS experience within construction, engineering, electrical, mechanical, or related industries.
  • Previous experience in a senior EHS leadership role managing multiple projects or locations.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Construction Regulations, and CDM requirements.
  • Experience leading audits, investigations, and EHS management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.
  • Professional membership (IOSH or equivalent) desirable.
  • Able to influence, coach, and support teams at all levels of the organisation.
  • Willingness to travel across the region as required.
