We\'re looking for a driven Supplier Quality Engineer with a strong technical foundation in steel and aluminum welding, and a deep understanding of pressure vessel requirements familiar with Standards such as ISO3834, ISO 13919, ISO10042, ISO 8785 PED and ASME.

How you’ll make an impact
  • Plan, conduct and ensure required Supplier Assessments / Audits as per Operation Unit needs and Performance Monitoring of OQD and OTD. Verify effective closure of assessment non-conformances, by the supplier.
  • Support our Procurement HUB and Factory Team that we ensure a proper Qualified supplier base and by that help to ensure each supplier follows the Hitachi Energy Supplier Code of Conduct, ethics and corporate governance and sustainability requirements.
  • Support the Supply Chain Management Organization and Part Qualification Team in a proper execution of process & part qualifications (PPAP) according to defined requirements.
  • Focus on issue resolution (Supplier Non-Conformance Management) along with suppliers on Quality Problems and visit the suppliers you are responsible for in a regular manner to help them to drive Quality Improvement Projects (willingness to travel ~30%).
  • Operationally lead and fast execute upcoming supply issues like quality issues, late deliveries, non-conforming products or project services. For any issue with a likely root cause supplier, prepare a claims case for the buyer responsible.
  • Monitor and report supplier performance (KPIs), quality issues, and development actions. Initiate and lead, or support, required Supplier Performance Evaluations (SPE) and ensure that the results are shared with the supplier (buyer responsible).
  • Complete special quality/quality management projects, as required.
Your background
  • Solid experience in welding techniques & good knowledge on supplier quality management, including conducting audits or assessments.
  • Familiarity with supplier qualification processes and standards like PPAP.
  • Understanding procurement and supply chain operations, especially in a manufacturing or industrial context.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, sustainability, and ethical compliance frameworks such as a Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • Strong problem-solving skills related to supplier non-conformance and quality issues (8D).
  • Ability to lead operational issue resolutions involving suppliers, including preparing claims and coordinating with buyers and stakeholders of Europe operation units.
  • Experience in monitoring supplier performance using KPIs and leading performance evaluations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly (approx. 30%) for supplier visits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Capability to manage and execute special projects within quality or quality management domains.
  • Favorably qualified as Green Belt, using lean 6s methods, statistical process control & P-FMEA methods.
  • Fluent Swedish and English.
