Job summary

Ingrid Capacity AB is expanding its BESS and renewable trading team in Sweden and seeks a power trader to own trading algorithms across day-ahead auctions, Nordic ancillary capacity auctions, and the intraday market. This hands-on, market-facing role requires vigilance, tuning, and real-time decision-making to ensure algorithm performance in live markets.

Qualifications

2–5 years of hands-on operational experience in a similar trading, dispatch, balancing, or portfolio operations role within the European power industry.
Solid understanding of wholesale power markets (day-ahead, intraday, balancing) and Nordic ancillary service markets function (FCR, aFRR, mFRR).
Understanding of BESS revenue streams and how they interact across markets.
Good knowledge of the energy regulatory landscape, including REMIT, BRP obligations, settlement and imbalance processes, TSO market pre-qualification requirements, and day-to-day interactions with TSOs.
Comfortable working with algorithmic and automated trading setups.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and make real-time decisions under pressure.
Programming skills, particularly Python, for analyzing algo output and reviewing back tests - not required, but a strong plus.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, business, finance, physics, energy systems), or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor and operate BESS trading algorithms in real time across day-ahead, ancillary, and intraday markets, adjusting parameters and intervening when needed.
Validate that bids generated by the optimization engine are correctly submitted to day-ahead auctions and Nordic ancillary capacity auctions (FCR, aFRR, mFRR).
Reconcile and validate trade results against expected outcomes, flagging and investigating discrepancies.
Track and report algorithm performance across all traded markets, identifying deviations from expectations.
Act as the operational point of contact for settlement, imbalance, and BRP-related matters with TSOs and market counterparties.
Support the algo and quant teams in developing new trading strategies across ancillary, day-ahead, and intraday markets.
Serve as the operational link between live trading and Asset Management, Algo, and Engineering teams, ensuring alignment with portfolio and roadmap.
Back test algorithm performance and contribute to evaluation framework for new strategies.
