Job summary

Ingrid is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the Platforms team, working on real-time trading decisions, grid balancing, and asset optimisation with Python microservices in the cloud. You’ll own the path from commit to production, deploy often, and collaborate with trading, market intelligence and asset operations to deliver robust backend systems at scale.

Qualifications

• Deep backend experience in Python with production services.
• Experience with event-driven or distributed systems (Pub/Sub, Kafka).
• Cloud experience, ideally GCP, with production observability.

Responsibilities

• Go deep in one domain: Optimisation & Trade, Delivery & Steering, or Partner Experience Platform.
• Design, build and maintain production-grade backend services in Python.
• Build real-time, event-driven systems reacting to market data.
• Design and evolve databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud storage.
• Own CI/CD, containerisation, monitoring and security from the start.
