Job summary

Tata Technologies in Sweden seeks a Lead Body Structure Engineer to own BIW and body structure development for a prototype vehicle program. You will coordinate design, sourcing, manufacturing, and build activities with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust structures.

Responsibilities include leading design releases, BOM management, and supplier coordination, while ensuring milestones and quality are met throughout the build lifecycle.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive related field.
• Strong BIW/body structure development experience.
• Experience leading complex projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Knowledge of vehicle build processes and prototype development.
• Experience managing suppliers and sourcing activities.
• BOM management and engineering release processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership; fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and release of body structure components for prototype builds.
• Coordinate project content, engineering deliverables, and timeline planning with stakeholders.
• Identify and manage BOM content, including new parts and bridging solutions.
• Establish sourcing plans and manage supplier activities throughout the project.
• Lead engineering meetings with designers, suppliers, manufacturing teams, and stakeholders.
• Identify risks, define mitigations, and drive solutions.
• Secure engineering data in product development systems and databases.
• Participate in mechanical integration and technical reviews.
• Ensure milestones, quality objectives, and deliverables are achieved.
