Job summary

KTH Royal Institute of Technology is seeking a technician for the Department of Energy Technology to support experimental research and education by building prototypes and test rigs.

You will work in the Division of Applied Thermodynamics and Refrigeration, assisting researchers, doctoral students, and laboratory staff, with responsibilities ranging from design support to maintenance.

Qualifications

• Upper secondary education in mechanics or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge in 3-phase electricity.
• Basic knowledge of English for day-to-day work.
• Experience with refrigeration, heat pumps, and thermal energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical manufacturing of prototypes and components (lathe, milling, welding, brazing).
• Construct prototypes and test rigs, commission equipment, provide technical support.
• Design support for experimental projects with researchers and doctoral students.
• Purchasing support and development of risk assessments.
• Fire safety and chemical handling responsibilities with colleagues.
• Laboratory and workshop maintenance and service.
