Job summary

Smartoptics is seeking a Production Test Development Engineer in Stockholm/Kista to build and improve our production test environment. You will combine software, hardware, optics, robotics, and data to enhance testing, automation, and scalability across production lines.

You will work with R&D, Production Engineering and Operations to drive NPI, Design for Testability, and Design for Manufacturing, while applying modern software practices and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Structured, hands-on problem solver who can work independently and across functions.
• Strong programming and software development skills.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware and software for automated and semi-automated production testing.
• Create test setups, fixtures, and reusable test sequences; integrate optical components and production equipment.
• Ensure test solutions are reliable, repeatable, and scalable across products and stations.
• Improve test coverage, first-pass yield, cycle time, repeatability, and production efficiency using data.
• Troubleshoot equipment and production issues; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production Engineering, Quality, and Operations on NPI, DFT, and DFM.
