Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Sweden is seeking a dedicated Process Engineer to improve pulp and paper manufacturing processes and related materials. You will work closely with Production, R&D, Quality, and Maintenance to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality across operations.

The role emphasizes data-driven testing, equipment evaluation, and the development of technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • Holds an engineering degree and demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communicative and collaborative, with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Swedish language fluency is required; English is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, and workflows to boost productivity and quality.
  • Analyze, design, and run tests to collect data supporting decisions.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Collaborate with Production, R&D, Quality, and Maintenance to identify improvements and implement changes.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Ensure all process improvements meet safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Job description

At Hitachi Energy Figeholm, we manufacture high-quality electrical insulation materials used in power transformers around the world. Our products — including boards, laminates, and strips made from pulp — play an essential role in ensuring safe and reliable energy systems.

We are now looking for a dedicated Process Engineer to help improve and optimize our paper mill operations and the pulp based material manufacturing processes. In this role, you will work closely with production and several other internal functions to strengthen efficiency, quality, and safety across our operations.

How you will make an impact
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and workflows to increase productivity and enhance quality.
  • Analyze, design, and carry out tests to collect data that supports decisionmaking.
  • Evaluate and implement new manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal functions such as Production, R&D, Quality, and Maintenance to identify improvements and implement changes in the process.
  • Develop and update technical documentation.
  • Ensure that all process improvements comply with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Your background
  • You hold an engineering degree and have strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • You are communicative and collaborative, and you enjoy taking responsibility and working in teams.
  • You speak and write Swedish fluently. Good English skills are meriting.
  • Previous experience as a Process Engineer within the pulp and paper industry, manufacturing, or project management is advantageous.
  • Experience working with R&D is meriting.
  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma is considered an advantage.
  • You are skilled at prioritizing, analyzing root causes, and finding effective solutions. You work in a calm and structured way and contribute positively to teamwork.
