Job summary

Velory seeks a technical leader to steer architecture and DevOps across its platform, guiding a small group of product engineers. You will shape the technical direction, champion AI-native workflows, and partner with CISO and Legal to align with ISO 27001, GDPR, WCAG and SOC 2.

You will manage a hands-on engineering team, drive reliable multi-tenant architectures for a scaling SaaS platform, and collaborate with product, commercial, and operations to deliver secure, high-performance software.

About the role

This is a builder role. You'll be a part of setting the technical direction the rest of Engineering builds along and you'll carry manager responsibility for a small group of product engineers. We're looking for depth in architecture, systems and DevOps that add value to our product. You'll collaborate with different colleagues across our tech organization such as product, commercial and business on direction, with security and compliance on standards and with infrastructure and operations on reliability and performance.

In this role you will:

• Drive the architectural evolution of the Velory platform. Champion an AI-native development approach, ensuring our systems are designed to support agentic workflows and intelligent automation from the ground up.
• Define and socialize the Golden Path for development. Create standardized, self-service infrastructure (CI/CD, observability, deployment) that enables teams to build, test and ship with high velocity, safety and autonomy.
• Act as a trusted advisor to product engineers at every level, leading the knowledge-sharing sessions, technical workshops, and architectural reviews that upskill the team.
• Work closely with principal engineering managers to identify skill gaps and provide guidance on team development.
• Management responsibilities for a small group of product engineers, owning their performance, development and career progression.
• Partner with CISO and Legal teams to ensure architectural decisions align with ISO 27001, GDPR (Privacy by Design), WCAG and SOC 2 requirements. Lead Compliance by Design initiatives, embedding security, auditability, and data privacy controls into the development lifecycle.
• Architect the platform to support our high-growth phase, specifically ensuring stability for multi-tenant, high-volume MSP partnerships.
• Represent Product Engineering in executive-level discussions, providing insights on technical feasibility and innovation opportunities.
• Advocate for AI-driven efficiencies, ensuring engineering teams leverage automation and AI capabilities effectively.
• Commercial focus you think about what the business needs, not only what the architecture wants.

Required Skills

• Full-stack capability with TypeScript
• A strong architecture and DevOps background
• Hands-on AI experience and a working command of current best practices
• At least 5 years of experience from a similar role
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
