Job summary

Senovo IT Ltd in Sweden is seeking a PostgreSQL DBA for a client project based in Sweden. The contract is initially 6 months with potential extension.

The role leads the Oracle to PostgreSQL migration, translating requirements into robust database designs, validating schemas, and ensuring performance and stability during the migration. You will collaborate with engineering teams and document learnings and best practices for future migrations.

Senovo IT is looking for Postgre DBA opportunity with one of our clients based in Sweden.

• Duration: Initial 6-months contract + potential extension
• Start Date: September 2026

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and actively contribute to the end-to-end migration of Oracle database services to PostgreSQL, ensuring stability and continuity for platform operations.
• Translate application and service requirements into effective database designs, acting as a bridge between development teams and database engineering.
• Review and validate schemas, configurations, and application-level database interactions to ensure correctness, performance, and compatibility throughout the migration.
• Identify gaps, risks, and optimization opportunities across the migration pipeline.
• Produce clear documentation, including migration learnings, best practices, and repeatable processes for future database modernization initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Extensive hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or PostgreSQL-focused developer.
• Strong understanding of Oracle database concepts, including data type mappings and migration considerations.
• Proven experience executing Oracle to PostgreSQL migration projects.
• Ability to work autonomously within an established migration framework and deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering and database teams.
• Familiarity with Liquibase or similar tools for schema versioning and database change management.
